Baillie Lodges is a dynamic company created by the partnership of James and Hayley Baillie. Founded in 2003, the venture aims to set new benchmarks for premium experiential travel in a unique Australian style. The Baillies' passion to create luxury lodges in places of unique natural significance is renowned, and their integrity in the tourism industry stems from a synchronising of both experience and personal interests. James was founding Managing Director of P&O Australian Resorts and Hayley worked on board the world's best expedition ships creating programs to enhance guests' nature and adventure experiences.
Capella Lodge on World Heritage-listed Lord Howe Island was the first property in the Baillie Lodges boutique portfolio and is much-loved by new and returning guests seeking 'barefoot luxury', fresh cuisine and first-name service in a subtropical escape.
In early 2008 Southern Ocean Lodge on Kangaroo Island opened as South Australia's luxury accommodation icon. Now multi-award winning and globally renowned, the Lodge's dramatic coastal location, architectural integrity, fine regional cuisine and guided interpretive adventures have ensured its place as a local and international destination of choice.
Baillies Sydney in the heart of the historic Rocks precinct is set to open in mid 2014. Currently in the design stage, Baillies Sydney will merge preserved settlement era buildings with contemporary design. Travellers can expect luxurious lodgings with a convict edge, concierge, spa and all the trappings Baillie Lodges' are renowned for.
The Baillie Lodges properties are honoured as 'first 15' founding members of Luxury Lodges of Australia, celebrating a new era of Australian experiential luxury accommodation and adventure. James Baillie sits as Chair of the distinguished collective.
